Entering In New TM's

This section will go over how to enter a TM.

Help! My Category Doesn't Exist Yet!

Alright, let's say you click on Covert but when you see Covert/Items, it's a black link. This mean the page doesn't exist yet. Making pages in this Wiki is easy! First, click edit on the tabbed bar up top, when you're at the covert page. You'll see some links surrounded by double brackets [*2 and ]*2. These are page links. To create a new page, just name a page that doesn't exist yet, and surround it by double brackets.

For example, if we were trying to do Faith, we'd change Faith to [ [Faith] ] (minus the spaces between the ]'s.

If we want to create the Covert/Items page, we'd change Covert/Items to [ [Covert/Items|Items] ], again minus the spaces between the ['s.

Notice the format. Covert/Items|Items. The | character inside a wiki link is important. Everything to the left of the | is what the page links to. Everything to the right is what the person sees as a link. So that link will show as "Items", but link to the Covert/Items page.

Help! My Link Exists, But It's An Empty Page!

Congratulations! You're about to be the first to contribute to a new section of the wiki. If you ever see a red link, that means that nobody has built the page yet. When you go in, you'll need to create it! I'll tell you my preferred way. Let's say that Covert/Manipulation has been built, but Covert/Items hasn't. Go to Covert Manipulation, click edit, then copy everything that makes up the page. Now go to Covert/Items, and paste. Change everywhere it says Manipulation to Items, then get rid of the Manipulation subcategories of Palming, Passing, Sleight-Of-Hand, and stealing, and replace them with the Item subcategories of Poisons, Traps, and Weapons. Remember to create links to the new subcategory pages, if that's where you're putting your TM!

Now, if you're putting in a base skill... like Covert/Items/Traps, this is where it gets different. For skills that you can TM, make the format like the other pages. In this case,

The TM Project

Covert

 * Traps

Now, you'll input some TM formats. First you want to make a subcategory. To do this, type "= = My category = =" minus the spaces between the ='s.

The first subcategory is TM Actions. So two ='s, space, TM Actions, space, two ='s. (or copy it over from another page, which is easier, usually.)

Hit enter twice, and type, The following have been known to work: (Enter Twice) (Shift-8)(Space)(How to TM) (Shift-8)(Space)(Another way to TM that's very different from the first) (etc.)

(Enter Twice) ='s TM Format ='s

(First TM Method) (Shift-8)(Space)(Bonus achieved, all known difficulty modifiers to doing the action that makes you TM.) (Enter twice) (Second TM Method) (Shift-8)(Space)(Bonus achieved, all known difficulty modifiers to doing the action that makes you TM.) (Enter twice).

Whoo! Lots of work, but it really does look nice. You may even want to save to see your work. Here's what it looks like for Covert/Items.

TM Actions

The following have been known to work:

  • Probe (exit that has a trap in it)
  • Disable (exit that has a trap in it)

TM Format

(Probe/Disable)

  • Bonus obtained, type of trap you TM'd off of, burden, hands free.

Finally, we make bonus categories. I seperate these by 50 points. In order, 0-50, 51-100, 101-150, 151-200, 201-250... etc.

The reason I do this is that a person with 228 bonus probably isn't interested with how you got to 136 bonus. So when this wiki expands, looking at a group of specialized bonuses will help you understand how more to TM at your bonus.

To do this:

(Two spaces)(Shift-8)(Space)[ [Covert/Items/Traps/0-50|0-50 bonus] ](without the spaces between the ['s.

You've now created the link to the bonus page for that bonus. Click on that, quickly fill in (through typing or by pasting from another page manually:)

The TM Project

Covert

 * Traps
   * 0-50 bonus
     *

The final asterisk is for the first TM to go in. So enter yours!

Where do I put my TM's when the page already exists?

Good question! The best place is probably in ascending order. So if you TM'd to 208, yours should go after 207, but before 209. If there's another 208 bonus on there, add yours anyway! People will be able to see all the different ways of achieving 208 if they are stuck at 206-207, or see that one way TM's better than another.
